Course Outline:

This course has been designed to enable participants to understand the requirements for the safe handling and loading of chemicals.

Introduction to the definition of hazardous materials and classification of chemicals.
Hazards of handling chemicals and other harmful substances as well as the use of material safety data sheets.
Precautions and the safe handling of hazardous materials including chemicals.
Loading of hazardous material.
Personal Safety.

WORKSHOP STYLE:

A mixture of short presentations, interactive discussion, individual exercises and group work. The emphasis throughout is on a practical approach using case material and examples.
